This spring, most of the fashion trends 2010 are made of those lovely silk dresses, sheaths, floral design, pink and ruffles and even bows. In Marc Jacob’s collection during the Fashion Week celebration, most of the designs made for spring are mostly silk and ruffled. Those dresses look so feminine and posh at the same time, that’s why the crowd loved entirely his spring collection. Carolina Herrera on the other hand featured designs with the color of sunset such as rose, amber and caramel; lovely as well. Dona Karan showcased a collection of sophisticated and modern designs basically with a suit highlighting the strong shoulder shape and a wrap jacket. Together with her team of DKNY they made edgy designs that can be both formal and at the same time cool casual wear. The secret, try wearing something like a swingy skirt or cropped trouser and pair them with a sleek jacket, heels and bright accessories.
To continue with the fashion shows stuff, nothing beats of course the New York Fashion Week. Even famous celebrities in Hollywood watch this fashion event. What makes it really special is the fact that these famous designers are really trend setters. Imagine from those lovely wedding dresses of Vera Wang, the futuristic, goth and glam designs of Rodarte, the hip collections of Michael Kors, Oscar dela Renta and a lot more world class designers, this event has everything that the fashion industry beholds. It’s the best show to look for if you want to know what the latest are and the hottest in fashion. There might be some designs that are too weird to follow, sometimes unbelievable but majority are well suited. Take for example The Mulleavy sisters of Rodarte. They can aways get the crowd’s attention because their models usually appear in black futuristic clothes and tattoos. Don’t get me wrong, their designs are just and like the rest, I love them too.

From fashion week, let’s talk about something different this time. Bags are not included in the fashion week event and I guess you don’t really need to know much about what’s in and what’s not because it all depends on your own preference. Bags are among the easiest to shop. You can easily spot the newest and the trendiest the moment you enter a boutique or the moment you hit the department store. There are even cooler designs online; there are knockoffs and designer items. In the website of Harper’s Bazaar, they have this campaign that fakes are never in fashion since they attribute counterfeit to child labor, drug trafficking and even terrorism. For me, this is such a good campaign, getting real is simply the best thing that a woman should do whenever she wants to accessorize. I mean, what’s the point in flaunting those fake designer bags when in fact everyone around you knew it’s not real.

After browsing for some fashion guides this summer, I therefore conclude that aside from brilliant colors, prints are also in for the season. But ask if I’m going to wear those leopard prints, my answer is no. There are more savvy prints, something more unique not that leopard stuff. For summer dresses, make sure that you have something vibrant, I go for the floral prints (love them) or stripes.
If you want to look sexier, you can opt for something like ivory and dark hues then match them with strappy heels. Skirts are also adorable and so are shorts. Pair them with some sleeveless tops or spaghetti straps and put on your shades to give you ultimate style and eye protection as well. Summer dresses can also be long and yet swingy. Just go for extra comfortable cotton and not so thick garment. Have fun and beat the heat by wearing these summer chic outfit.
Have you seen this cute website about wedding fashion ideas? It’s just only a blog site but then the pictures are compiled from all different places and the ideas are really creative. Oh, the site is style me pretty. Anyway, since summer is almost around the corner, I’m thinking that a beach wedding can be just adorable. Imagine your entourage wearing those short dresses and the bride looks so sexy in a short wedding gown. The idea itself, is not so formal, hence less stiff yet more enjoyable I guess. After the reception the whole guests can splurge in the water and the couple can have more bonding time with them like sitting around a bonfire and talking about future plans for the family. How about that? Actually I have never been in a beach wedding so I have not much idea about it. I wish to know more about the details so feel free to give me comments.
